Composition
The active ingredient of Amlorine® is Amlodipine(as besilate).
Indications
Amlorine® is indicate for the treatment of hypertension, stabile angina and Prinzmental’s angina.
Dosage:
- Adults: the usual initial does is 5mg once daily, which may be increased to a maximum does of 10mg.
- Children: use in children is not recommended.
- Elderly: Normal dosage regimens are recommended.
Side-Effects
Somnolence, dizziness, headaches, flushing, gastro-intestinal disturbances and oedema have been associated with the use of Amlodipine. Also, very rare, thrombocytopenia, peripheral neuropathy, gingival hyperplasia and rhythm disturbances have been described.
Precautions
Amlodipine should be administered with caution in patients with NYHA III and IV heart failure, or in patients with impaired hepatic function.
